It's a Boo-Boo-Baby-Boy!

Onyx couldn't be any sweeter....truly! This boy smiles and talks often, only really cries if we push it on his feeding schedule (which is really quite lax) or if he's totally worn out. If we didn't put the little guy off so often (which is easy to do because he's so laid back), I don't think this kid would ever cry! The Pea still adores him, though she's having a hard time understanding why he can "kick" her and get away with it, and of course suck on his fingers when he's NOT in bed (a rule we enforce w/ her and her t-h-u-m-b), but overall the really do love each other! At around 3 mo. Onyx was a couple pounds heavier and 2 inches longer than Allegra when she was his age. Though he's not a chub, he certainly is no frail baby....tall too! He's rolling around everywhere, certainly cannot be trusted to be alone on a bed for very long, even with pillow barriers! He's a baby on the move! As for the other child....The Pea is growing like a weed and seems to be ready for school to start back up in a couple of weeks. She has spent some time in swimming lessons and is getting quite brave, even jumping off the diving board! She's also spent a lot of time with cousins Ben and Jakob, ALWAYS an exciting time for her!

Well, on 4/25 at 4:50pm he finally arrived! We are in love with little Onyx Armour, especially his big sister! Life is busy, but good. He's a big sleeper and eater, already put on almost 2 pounds in his first 10 days! We're very proud of the little man. Love you, Onyx!

Where are you, Baby 2?

We're still enjoying spring, just awaiting our new arrival! In the meantime, we've celebrated Easter, started swimming lessons and frolicked in our lawn among the beautiful flowers and blooming trees. Hopefully the next blog post will include pics of Little Baby #2!

Spring has Sprung!

We're just over a month away from the big "due date!" We're all pretty excited, and hoping that little Baby D doesn't come too early since we still have lots to do....Allegra is constantly giving hugs and kisses to my belly, she thinks the baby is "so cute" already. I really wonder what she pictures? She and Leo are convinced it's a girl, I think boy. We shall soon see!

Besides prepping for baby, we've been busy with the usual life stuff and enjoying some new adventures. Allegra went to her first real movie, The Lorax in 3D, and loved it! She did great through the whole thing! We also recently had lunch at Gram and Dunn on the plaza, where she enjoyed a wild boar sloppy joe and duck fat chips, which she shared w/ Daddy. We love that our girl is an adventuresome eater!

Holly, holly, holidays!

Wow, Nov. and Dec. flew by in a flash! Here's why.....our annual Non-Traditional Thanksgiving, then our standard family Thanksgiving in Marshall, the Pea's 3rd b-day, my (35th!) b-day, then preparations for Christmas, New Year's, etc. Whew! It was a fun, exhausting, cozy whirlwind of a season. Little Baby D is growing quickly and moving all the time. Allegra thinks she has a baby in her tummy too, she's having a girl and I'm having a boy (according to her, anyway....) I guess we'll find out for sure in April! Till then, here's to 2012!

The autumn leaves....

We're already about half way through fall, but it doesn't feel that way! Wow, lots has happened since my last post....The Pea has started Montessori (which she LOVES), summer has ended, we hosted yet another annual cooking contest and let's see, celebrated our 8th anniversary and what else....Oh yes, Halloween pics (she was Sally from Charlie Brown) AND we announced we're expecting another baby in April! Allegra's pretty excited about being a big sister, and she's been very supportive at my midwife appointments. Though trimester one was rough, we're now in the 14th week and things are looking up!
